Jauger Hounds are not born or forged, instead they rise from molten lava in The Obsidian Depths - a plane of ancient darkness. Fully-formed they climb out of the fiery pits. No master can claim them or train them. They have no sense of good or evil, right or wrong. They do not reason, bargain, or feel empathy. 

While they are native to the Obsidian Depths, some have been seen stalking the borders of the Sea of Fire - the Elemental Plane of Fire - drawn perhaps by kinship of heat. 

On rare occasions, powerful summoners managed to call them to the Material Plane, but soon realize that non can truly bound a Jauger Hound. Only a singular relic offers momentary control: The Medallion of the Flame Fang allows a bearer to command a Jauger Hound up to three times, each time forcing it to obey a spoken order for one round. After the third use, the medallion melts into slag and the Hound becomes fixated on the bearer. Even if dismissed or banished, it will remember the one who forced their control on it. A Jauger Hound never forgets.

Out beyond the turquoise waters of Elba’s scattered islands a ship sails - The Laughing Ship, a black-sailed vessel that seems to move even without wind or waves. At its helm stands Agata Meat-Cleaver, a captain as captivating as she is cruel.

Agata has sailed the seas for a long time and she has earned the respect of sailors all around Elba's waters. Some speak of her as a ghost - drowned with her ship one stormy night or maybe killed by a Sea Serpent - but it is only rumors, no one knows for sure. Except the once that has faced her, seen her bleed and found her to now be an enemy for life.
